What Vein Removal Can Address

This treatment is designed to refine the complexion and may improve the appearance of:

  • Facial Thread Veins: Often found around the nose and cheeks (telangiectasia).

  • Spider Naevi: Central red spots with radiating vessels.

  • Cherry Angiomas: Small, raised red vascular spots.

  • Generalised Redness: Softening the appearance of vascular flushing.

  • Leg Veins: Smaller, superficial vessels on the lower limbs.

How Vein Removal Works

The NdYAG laser procedure relies on the principle of selective photothermolysis. A specific wavelength of light is emitted and absorbed by the haemoglobin within the targeted blood vessel. This light energy is converted into heat, causing the vessel walls to collapse and seal (coagulation).

Following the treatment, the body’s lymphatic system naturally identifies the treated tissue as waste, gradually breaking it down and absorbing it. Over the course of several weeks, the visibility of the vein typically fades, leaving the skin surface clearer and more uniform in tone.

What is Vein Removal at Eden Skin & Laser Clinic?

At Eden Skin & Laser Clinic, we utilise advanced light-based and laser technologies to address vascular concerns such as thread veins, spider veins, and cherry angiomas. Our approach is clinical and precise, focusing on the targeted delivery of energy to the affected vessels without compromising the integrity of the surrounding tissue. By employing medical-grade equipment, we ensure that each session is conducted with the highest standards of safety and efficacy, tailored to the unique physiological response of your skin. We have a dedicated relaxing laser room at the clinic where you can lie back and enjoy the bespoke relaxing sounds & smells of the room while your treatment is ongoing.

  • Safety is our paramount concern. While all clinical procedures carry potential risks—such as temporary pigment changes or blistering—our practitioners are highly trained in laser safety protocols. The treatment is conducted following a comprehensive skin assessment to ensure suitability.

  • Patients often describe the sensation as a brief, sharp snap against the skin, similar to the flick of a rubber band. Our technology includes integrated cooling systems to manage thermal comfort and protect the epidermis throughout the session.

  • Results are often progressive. While some smaller vessels may disappear immediately, others may darken before gradually fading. Significant improvement is typically observed after a series of sessions, though individual responses vary based on the depth and size of the vessels.

  • Downtime is generally minimal. You may experience localized redness, slight swelling, or a "cat-scratch" appearance in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few days. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and extreme heat for 48 hours post-treatment.

  • To support the healing process and optimize your results, we advise the following:

    • Sun Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily to the treated area to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

    • Heat Avoidance: Avoid hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 48 hours.

    • Gentle Cleansing: Use tepid water and avoid aggressive scrubbing or exfoliation for 5 days.

    • Activity: Refrain from high-impact exercise for 24–48 hours to prevent premature vasodilation.

Practitioner & Safety Note

All vascular treatments at Eden Skin & Laser Clinic are subject to a thorough face-to-face consultation. This allows our clinical team to assess your medical history, perform a patch test, and discuss the potential risks and realistic expectations of the procedure.
