How Profhilo Works
Profhilo is injected into five precise points on each side of the face (the "BAP" injection technique), ensuring even distribution. Once injected, the high concentration of pure HA spreads within the skin's layers. It acts as a powerful hydrator and bio-stimulator, triggering fibroblasts to produce new collagen (Type I & IV) and elastin. This "bio-remodelling" process gradually improves skin density, tightness, elasticity, and radiance from within—without adding filler-like volume.

Yes. Profhilo is made of pure, stabilised hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the skin. It has an excellent safety profile, is biocompatible, and is metabolised naturally by the body. As with any injectable, choosing a qualified, experienced medical practitioner is essential to minimise risks and ensure proper technique.

Discomfort is typically minimal. A very fine needle is used, and the product itself contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to enhance comfort during the procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as a series of quick, minor pinches.

Initial skin hydration and glow can be noticed within days. However, the key bio-remodelling results begin from 4 weeks after treatment as collagen production increases. Optimal results are visible after the second treatment session (recommended 4 weeks apart), with continued improvement for up to 3 months. Results typically last 6-9 months.

There is minimal downtime. You may experience small bumps, redness, mild swelling, or slight bruising at the injection points immediately after. These usually subside within 24-48 hours. You can return to most normal activities immediately, avoiding intense heat, exercise, and makeup for 24 hours.

Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for 6 hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and sunbathing for 24-48 hours.
Avoid makeup on the area for 12 hours post-treatment.
Do not undertake other facial treatments (e.g., facials, chemical peels, laser) for 2 weeks.
Gently apply a cold compress if needed to reduce swelling.
Use a high-factor broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to protect the skin.
Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
